Gustav Pieterse is General Manager of the Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa and Chair of FEDHASA Inland. A Central University of Technology Hospitality Management graduate, his career spans two decades in luxury hospitality. After rising at the Saxon from Banqueting to F&B Manager, Gustav gained international experience at The Hay-Adams in Washington, D.C., where he was named Manager of the Year. Returning to South Africa, he advanced to Operations Manager, Hotel Manager and ultimately GM at the Saxon. He also oversees hospitality operations at Shambala Private Game Reserve, helped launch the Steyn City Hotel by Saxon, the Saxon Spa and the Guild restaurant–coworkspace, and is an alumnus of Cornell’s General Managers Programme. He serves on academic advisory boards and advocates for youth employment and sector development.
