Executive Chef Donaldson Madubela brings over two decades of culinary mastery to NH Johannesburg Sandton, shaped by a career across some of the world’s most distinguished luxury properties. His journey includes Le Franschhoek Hotel, La Residence, Mount Grace, Arabella Hotel & Spa, 54 on Bath, and international destinations such as North Island Seychelles, Four Seasons Desroches Island (Seychelles), Anantara Bazaruto Island (Mozambique), and NOOE Maldives, experiences that refined his understanding of global gastronomy at the highest level.

In May 2025, Chef Donaldson earned international recognition at the Global Chefs Challenge Semi-Finals (Africa & Middle East) in the UAE, securing 3rd place and winning both a WACS Bronze Medal and the Silver Emirates Medal, finishing just 0.73 points behind second place. Representing South Africa as one of only three chefs selected from Africa, he demonstrated exceptional skill on a world stage.

At NH Johannesburg Sandton, he curates immersive culinary experiences, including bespoke Chef’s Table evenings and signature dining events that celebrate seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
