The South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA) is an international, non-profit organisation, representing the Muslim Ummah on all matters pertaining to the general application of the term Halaal with specific reference to Islamic dietary laws. SANHA’s membership comprises of leading Theological Bodies and leading Professional Organisations of global repute. SANHA has been established as a representative authority, which promotes professionalism and excellence in the certification of Halaal food and other related products. This serves to confirm that our organisation is among the founder members of the World Halaal Council and enjoys international recognition from both Muslim countries and the broader global community.

SCASA

SCASA is an agent for the World Coffee Events and the World Barista Competition, therefore promoting the competitions related to these organisations. SCASA ensure that baristas within the country are trained to an ultimately professional level, providing them with the best skills to compete in competitions Regionally, Nationally, and Internationally. SCASA provides a forum to share information and views, so as to assist the industry in growing the knowledge and awareness of Speciality Coffee in Southern Africa.

South African Chefs Association

SA Chefs is a non-profit industry body, founded more than 44 years ago, that represents the interests of chefs, cooks and caterers at all levels, with a focus on skills development, the celebration of culinary professionals and transforming the industry. SA Chefs aims to have a significant impact on the careers of the chefs with whom we share the knowledge that our members have acquired through international food promotions, competitions, workshops, educational conferences and various other learning experiences. To date we have over 9600 members that include catering and hotel company directors, restaurateurs, chefs, cooks, culinary educators, apprentices and trainees; who can be found in every type of catering field.

Sustainable Tourism Partnership Program

Since its inception, the STPP is viewed as a thought leader in sustainable tourism implementation. The programme has been developed in alignment to, amongst others, the National Tourism Sector Strategy and the National Minimum Standard for Responsible Tourism NMSRT (SANS 1162:2011). As such the programme incorporates environmental, cultural, heritage and social criteria, economic best practice, community resilience, universal accessibility and service excellence. The STPP’s approach is to drive mass scale change across the industry by working with local, regional, provincial and national public and private stakeholders to form strong collaborative partnerships. The STPP’s programmes are aimed at delivering mind-set changes, training, education, upskilling, market data and specialized projects and programmes that provide solutions that assist the smaller tourism sector to overcome barriers to sustainable growth and development. The STPP works through extensive networks and partnerships to influence change from the top down and the bottom up.

Kweichow Moutai

The history of this traditional Chinese liquor goes back over 2000 years with a significant evolution during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) when Chinese distillers introduced advanced and unique techniques for processing this distinctive type of liquor. Maotai became the first Chinese liquor to be produced in large-scale production. The Communist government consolidated a lot of local distilleries into 1 state-owned company, Kweichow Moutai (the name is an old romanization of “Guizhou Maotai”). This company is located in the Guizhou Province, in South-West China, where liquor distillery has a very long tradition.

Chefs with Compassion

The name Chefs with Compassion says a lot, but it doesn’t say it all. Chefs with Compassion is a collaboration of partners – individuals, companies, and organisations – who together rescue surplus food that would go to waste, and donate it to kitchens where it is cooked, to feed the growing number of hungry people in food-vulnerable areas. Chefs with Compassion was launched in May 2020 as a not-for-profit company in response to the Covid-19 humanitarian crisis and aims to continue as long as the need can be met.
