MICROS South Africa was formed in February 1997 with the acquisition of the distributor rights for Southern Africa for the then Micros inc. solution set. Micros South Africa currently employs 330 installation and support specialists, account managers and administration staff. In July 2017 Micros South Africa was acquired by Adapt IT, Adapt IT is a leader in the ICT market through the provision of software solutions to the Education, Manufacturing, Energy, Financial Services, Communications and Hospitality sectors, employing over 1 000 technology professionals and servicing more than 10 000 customers in 53 countries.
FEDHASA is the national trade association for the hospitality industry that include accommodation and catering sectors and has been representing the industry since 1949. FEDHASA vision is to be in the forefront of Southern Africa hospitality industry by influencing policy decision and direction by lobbying government and industry as the official unified voice of the Southern African hospitality industry. Our objective is to grow an inclusive hospitality industry by advocating, enhancing, and promoting the development and growth of a sustainable South African hospitality-trading environment.
GHASA was originally established as an association (Section 21, not for profit) in 1992, when a group of establishment owners got together to promote the Guest House Industry. The association was subsequently privatised in 2000 and we’re now known as Guest House Accommodation of SA (GHASA). Over the past couple of decades, GHASA has become well known as experts in Quality Guest House Accommodation, offering many benefits, assistance and valued advice to members, as well as booking opportunities for travellers. As the world becomes tougher and consumer demands grow, our mission is very simple – We want to help you run a better guest house.

RASA is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 2004 to act in the interest of the South African Restaurateur as the only official voice and lobbying body recognised by government to speak on the Restaurateurs behalf. RASA has direct representation with Government and various other boards and promotes restaurants as a sector of hospitality. RASA lobbies against government and has relationships with SAT, NDT, DOL TBCSA, GTA, CATHSSETA, BAC and some other friends of the association.
The South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA) is an international, non-profit organisation, representing the Muslim Ummah on all matters pertaining to the general application of the term Halaal with specific reference to Islamic dietary laws. SANHA's membership comprises of leading Theological Bodies and leading Professional Organisations of global repute. SANHA has been established as a representative authority, which promotes professionalism and excellence in the certification of Halaal food and other related products. This serves to confirm that our organisation is among the founder members of the World Halaal Council and enjoys international recognition from both Muslim countries and the broader global community.
SCASA is an agent for the World Coffee Events and the World Barista Competition, therefore promoting the competitions related to these organisations. SCASA ensure that baristas within the country are trained to an ultimately professional level, providing them with the best skills to compete in competitions Regionally, Nationally, and Internationally. SCASA provides a forum to share information and views, so as to assist the industry in growing the knowledge and awareness of Speciality Coffee in Southern Africa.
SA Chefs is a non-profit industry body, founded more than 44 years ago, that represents the interests of chefs, cooks and caterers at all levels, with a focus on skills development, the celebration of culinary professionals and transforming the industry. SA Chefs aims to have a significant impact on the careers of the chefs with whom we share the knowledge that our members have acquired through international food promotions, competitions, workshops, educational conferences and various other learning experiences. To date we have over 9600 members that include catering and hotel company directors, restaurateurs, chefs, cooks, culinary educators, apprentices and trainees; who can be found in every type of catering field.

The programme has been developed in alignment to, amongst others, the National Tourism Sector Strategy and the National Minimum Standard for Responsible Tourism NMSRT (SANS 1162:2011). As such the programme incorporates environmental, cultural, heritage and social criteria, economic best practice, community resilience, universal accessibility and service excellence. The STPP’s approach is to drive mass scale change across the industry by working with local, regional, provincial and national public and private stakeholders to form strong collaborative partnerships. The STPP’s programmes are aimed at delivering mind-set changes, training, education, upskilling, market data and specialized projects and programmes that provide solutions that assist the smaller tourism sector to overcome barriers to sustainable growth and development. The STPP works through extensive networks and partnerships to influence change from the top down and the bottom up.
